E-mail is an official means of communication at California State University, Northridge. It is your responsibility to monitor your CSUN student Gmail account or miss important information about enrollment status, registration, tuition and other fees, financial aid and more. To forward your CSUN Gmail to another e-mail account, log into Gmail and select Settings. Learn more about CSUN E-mail.

Establish your CSUN account
- Using the "Activate Your CSUN User ID and Password Today" letter, set up your CSUN account.
- Check your CSUN Gmail regularly for important University notices.
Upper-Division Transfer Student Checklist
The items that CSUN needs from you include:
- Official college transcripts including work-in-progress
- Advanced Placement (AP) exams, if applicable
- $55 Application Fee, or request an application fee waiver for one of the following academic years:
Fall 2011 / Spring 2012 Application Fee Waiver Form
Fall 2012 / Spring 2013 Application Fee Waiver Form
Complete all upper-division transfer student eligibility requirements within the following time frame for admission to:
- Spring 2012: Fall 2011 coursework will be considered for admission. Important: Send us preliminary official transcripts of your work-in-progress as soon as your fall class schedule is firm.
- Fall 2012: Complete requirements by the end of the spring 2012 term. No summer 2012 coursework will be considered for admission.
Send official transcripts so that we can determine your admission eligibility and notify you of our admission decision. You’ll benefit by sending us your transcripts as soon as possible.
Final official transcripts must be postmarked or hand delivered to Admissions and Records no later than the following deadline:
- Spring 2012: February 14, 2012
- Fall 2011: August 17, 2011

Go online to check your application status and look for missing items.
- Log into myNorthridge at www.csun.edu with your CSUN User ID and Password.
- Locate My Checklist and review your "Incomplete Tasks" such as missing transcripts.

If you are admitted...
After being admitted, transfer students must electronically file their Intent to Register by the following deadline:
- Spring 2012: Please file your Intent to Register by Tuesday, December 20, 2011.
- Fall 2012: File Intent to Register online no later than Monday, July 2, 2012.
Note: If you are admitted after June 19, 2012, you will have 14 days from your admission date to file.

If you do not e-file your Intent to Register by July 2, 2012, you cannot attend CSUN in the Fall 2012 semester. See I Have Been Admitted.
Lower-Division Transfer Student Checklist
Please Note: Lower division transfer student applications are not currently considered for admission to Cal State Northridge. For exceptions and updates, please check the Admissions Calendars.
CSUN needs your official transcripts to determine your admission eligibility. Admission decisions are sent as soon as eligibility is determined. It is to your benefit to submit transcripts as soon as possible.
The items that CSUN needs from you include:

- Official high school transcripts with graduation date
- SAT or ACT Test Scores
- Advanced Placement (AP) exams, if applicable
- $55 Application Fee or apply for the Application Fee Waiver form
