Services Credentials
Services Credentials authorize specific services in public and private schools as well as some district offices.
- Candidates may enter in Fall or Spring semester.
- Some credentials require a prerequisite credential.
Preliminary Administrative Services Credential
This credential authorizes service as an administrator in a school district. He/she may provide services such as supervision of certificated and classified employees, develop and support student support services, student discipline, and manage fiscal services. The prerequisite credential is a valid credential as specified in the Administrative Services application packet found on the website under applications.
Clear Administrative Services Credential
This credential authorizes service as an administrator in all of the areas above. This credential is earned through advanced coursework and three years of appropriate administrative experience while holding the Preliminary document. The prerequisite credentials are a valid credential as specified in the application packet as well as a Preliminary Administrative Credential.
Pupil Personnel Services Credential
These credential programs requires acceptance to the appropriate Master’s program in Educational Psychology Department.
- The specialization in School Counseling authorizes service as a counselor in a school setting.
- The specialization in School Psychology authorizes service as a school psychologist in a school setting. This credential does not have a prerequisite credential.
Speech Language Pathology Services Credential
This credential authorizes services by those who work as clinicians in primary and secondary school settings. The courses and clinical practice in Speech-Language Pathology that are needed for the credential are offered through the Department of Communicative Disorders in the College of Health and Human Development. Acceptance into the Master’s program of study is required.
Clear School Nurse Services Credential
This credential authorizes services as a school nurse in a K-12 setting. The candidate must hold a Preliminary School Nurse Credential and a current RN license.
