Congratulations! The Financial Aid and Scholarship Department at California State University, Northridge is pleased to offer you financial assistance. Financial aid is any Grant, Loan, Scholarship or Work-Study funds offered to help you meet the cost of an education at California State University, Northridge. This "Award and Planning Guide" lets you know about the types of funds awarded, the average cost used to make the aid calculations, and other important information regarding the rules, terms and conditions and procedures required of you as a CSUN financial aid student. All aid disbursed to you is for the support and completion of your academic goals and should be used accordingly.
By accepting any financial aid, scholarship, Federal Student Loan disbursements, and payments, I am certifying that I have read the current Award and Planning Guide and that I authorize CSU, Northridge to automatically transfer, from my financial aid, the amounts necessary to pay for tuition and other fees and/or other obligations or debts owed to the university. If I am a recipient of a Cal Grant B Access Grant, I may rescind an authorization by written notification to the Financial Aid & Scholarship Department. I also certify my understanding that financial aid award amounts are contingent upon availability of funds, which are sometimes subject to change. I also recognize that by receiving financial aid at CSUN that I may not receive financial aid from another institution, per CSUN guidelines.
What is a Notice of Financial Aid Award?
A Financial Aid Award Notice (in your CSUN e-mail box) is sent to you because you completed a Financial Aid Application (FAFSA). Your aid eligibility was determined using federally standardized calculations. Your "financial aid package," the funds we offer, is designed to assist you in meeting your standard college costs at California State University, Northridge. For your specific aid information, please look at your award information on the CSUN Web Portal- 'myNorthridge'. If you have any questions about your aid or your responsibilities, please contact us. Mission Statement

As members of the University community, we will collaborate with other campus departments and the community through partnerships to provide outreach and access services, scholarship resources and educational work experiences to our student population. We will strive to teach responsibility through loan counseling and budgeting workshops while requiring satisfactory academic progress to promote responsible citizenship.
