The requirements for some awards are very restrictive. Many organizations offer money each year with few takers because students don’t take the initiative to apply.

The investment of time on your part can be minimal
Some applications require little more than a one-page application. Take a half-hour study break, or give up 30 minutes of video games and get in the real “game” of applying for money to help pay for college.

Practice makes perfect
As you apply for scholarships, you will see that the process gets easier with practice. Writing an essay about yourself might not be an easy task, but its good practice for job interviews and can really help you write a personal statement on your resume.
