Work-Study is a federally funded program awarded according to financial aid campus policy. Funds are limited and awarded on a first come first serve basis. Priority is given to students who demonstrate the highest need.
You must indicate on your FAFSA that you are interested in Federal work-study. Work-Study jobs are only open to students who apply for financial aid by the priority deadline of March 2 prior to the upcoming academic year.
There are many benefits to working in a work-study job:
- Employers give priority hiring.
- Most jobs are conveniently located on campus.
- Can get work experience in your major field.
- Opportunities to serve the community.
- It’s great for personal growth.
Your Federal Work-Study award is an academic year award. As a condition of Federal Work-Study, you must be enrolled at least half-time during the semester(s) (fall/spring) in which you are employed. You may earn 50 percent of your award in the fall semester and 50 percent in the spring semester.
